Ireland
Ireland: Emerald landscapes, storied hospitality.
About Ireland
Ireland's draw is its landscape and its people in equal measure - the cliffs and coastline of the Wild Atlantic Way, Dublin's literary and pub culture, and small towns where hospitality feels genuinely personal rather than performed. It pairs naturally with England and Scotland on a wider British Isles itinerary.

Ireland has a mild, wet maritime climate with cool summers and mild winters. Rain is possible in any month, so it suits travel year-round, though May to September has the most reliable weather. Best time to visit: May to September, for the mildest and most reliable weather.
Dublin has buses, trams (Luas), and a rail network (DART) covering the city and coast. Intercity trains and coaches connect major towns, while a rental car is the best way to explore the coastal drives.
Good 4G/5G coverage in Dublin and other cities, with some patchier signal in rural and coastal areas. Free Wi-Fi is standard in hotels and cafes.
Ireland uses the Euro. Cards, including contactless, are accepted almost everywhere, and cash is rarely necessary.
Ireland is known for Aran wool sweaters, Waterford crystal, Irish whiskey, and Celtic jewelry. Most shops operate daily, with shorter hours on Sundays.
Ireland applies a standard VAT rate of 23% on most goods. Non-EU visitors can claim a refund with no minimum purchase amount at participating stores, processed at the airport on departure.

Visa Requirements for Ireland
For Indian passport holders. Confirm the current rules with the consulate before applying.
Visa Requirement
Ireland is an EU member but is not part of the Schengen Area, so a Schengen visa does not cover travel here - a separate Irish visa is required regardless of any Schengen visa held for the rest of a European itinerary. Citizens of the EU/EEA and a number of visa-exempt countries can visit without a visa for short tourist stays.
Indian passport holders must apply for an Irish short-stay 'C' visa before travelling, submitted through the Irish visa office or an authorised application centre.
