Mainland
Mainland Europe: Iconic cities, one seamless Schengen visa.
About Mainland
The flagship of European touring — Paris, Rome, Barcelona, Amsterdam, and the Swiss Alps sit within a single visa zone, making this the easiest region to build a multi-country itinerary around. From the Eiffel Tower to the Colosseum, this is the Europe most Indian travelers picture first, and it remains the highest-demand region for group tours, MICE, and honeymoon travel alike.
Visa & Schengen
Every country in this region is a full Schengen member, including Switzerland (non-EU but Schengen). A single Schengen visa covers the entire region — genuinely one of its biggest advantages for multi-country group itineraries.
Requirements are set by each consulate and can change. Confirm the current position for every leg of the itinerary before applying — we are happy to help.
Practical Information
Useful to know before travelling to Mainland
Climate
Climate varies widely across this large region — Mediterranean warmth in Spain, Italy, Portugal and Greece, alpine cold in Switzerland and Austria, and temperate conditions across France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. Summers are generally warm and dry in the south, mild and changeable further north.
Languages
French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, Greek, and Romanian, with English widely understood in hotels, restaurants, and tourist areas across every country in this region.
Transport Between Countries
Extensive high-speed rail across the region — France's TGV, Germany's ICE, Italy's Frecciarossa, and Spain's AVE connect major cities in hours, not days. Switzerland's rail network is considered among the most scenic in the world. Land borders between Schengen countries have no checkpoints, so overland transfers between countries are seamless.
Best Time to Visit
April to June and September to October offer the best balance of mild weather and manageable crowds. July–August is peak season with the warmest weather but the heaviest tourist volume, especially in Italy, France and Spain.
