Gstaad
Glacier 3000
Overview
Ride the cable car from Col du Pillon to Glacier 3000 and step out at almost 3,000 metres into snow, rock and ice above Les Diablerets. Up here you cross a bridge slung between two summits and look out over a long line of Alpine peaks.
Highlights
- Peak Walk: The 107-metre suspension bridge from Scex Rouge to View Point.
- Viewing platform: Viewfinders at the far end name each peak and its height.
- Glacier Walk: A secured route across the snow towards the Quille du Diable.
- Summit station: A restaurant at Scex Rouge for a warm break.
Good to know
- Time on site: About 3 hours at the top for the Peak Walk, the views and a short snow walk.
- Activity level: Easy to moderate, but at almost 3,000 metres: walk slowly and expect cold air and slippery snow. The bridge is not for anyone with a fear of heights.
- Pairs well with: The GoldenPass Panoramic Train Experience.
Facts

Did you know?
- The Peak Walk by Tissot, opened in 2014, is billed as the world's first suspension bridge linking two mountain peaks – 107 m long and just 80 cm wide.
- On clear days the views reach the Matterhorn, Mont Blanc, the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.
Tour manager tips
- At around 3,000 m it is cold even in summer: bring warm layers, gloves and sunglasses for the glare off the snow.
- Move slowly at altitude and rest if anyone feels breathless.
- Wear shoes with good grip; paths and the bridge can be icy.
